Maureen O'Connor (journalist)
Maureen O'Connor (born c. 1984) is an American journalist, currently a columnist at ''New York Magazine''. From 2009-12 she was a gossip blogger for Gawker.
O'Connor first began blogging for IvyGate while a student at Princeton University, following stories such as the Yale student abortion art controversy in 2008. She moved to ''The Daily Beast'' after she graduated,〔(Princeton Alumni Bloggers ), princeton.edu (listing O'Connor as 2008 graduate)〕 and then to Gawker in November 2009〔Williams, Alex (31 March 2010). (The Rising Stars of Gossip Blogs ), ''The New York Times''〕 under the nom de plume 'Azaria Jagger' whilst still being employed at ''The Daily Beast''.
Among scoops she has been credited with breaking was a story about U.S. Congressman Chris Lee's solitications for sexual partners via Craigslist in February 2011, quickly leading to Lee's resignation.〔(18 July 2011).
